Hiya Katie! Welcome to planDisney.
I think visiting
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park on your arrival day is a solid plan! It is a great way to experience some Disney magic right away without using up one of your theme park admission days. My family and I spent the day at Typhoon Lagoon during our recent trip, and it was the perfect combination of fun and relaxation for us.
If you have purchased a
5-day Park Hopper Plus ticket, it includes 5 days of theme park admission
AND 5 visits to fun things like Typhoon Lagoon, Disney's
Winter Summerland and
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways miniature golf courses (prior to 4:00 pm), and
Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course. Your 5 "fun visits" can be used independently of your theme park admission days. You are welcome to use them on the same days you visit the theme parks, or on alternate days. The choice is yours! All ticket entitlements must be used within the valid dates for your ticket.
Typhoon Lagoon is home to some of my favorite Disney snacks. We always make a stop for
mini-donuts at the Joffrey's Coffee stand, near
Singapore Sal's. (The raspberry dipping sauce is my fave!) You'll find several flavors of refreshing Dole Whip at the
Snack Shack, including adult libations. My family's water park tradition is indulging in the enormous Sand Pail sundae at
Happy Landings Ice Cream -- served in a sand pail complete with a shovel for scooping! Such silly fun, and makes for great, messy, photo ops as well!
I thought you might like to know that complimentary towels are provided for
Disney Resort Hotel Guests -- you can pick some up at Singapore Sal's. Non-hotel Guests may rent towels for a nominal charge.
Katie, I am wishing you a wonderful vacation! Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We are always happy to help. Enjoy your visit!
