I purchased a military ticket to magic kingdom on base. Do I need to bring my military ID to enter the park? Or should my tickets suffice?

    Hey there, Sakina!

Welcome to planDisney. Hooray, you’re going to Walt Disney World! Will you be visiting all four theme parks or just Magic Kingdom? Magic Kingdom is so special to us, we usually save that park for the last day of our visit. Only because we like to end our vacation with a bang, with the fireworks show! It seems like your visit will be just in time to enjoy the new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. You won't want to miss it!

If you’ve purchased the Disney Military Salute Ticket, you will need to activate your theme park tickets at a ticket window using your military ID before entering the theme parks. You can also head on over to the ticketing center at Disney Springs, the day before your first park day, to activate your tickets there as well!

If you’ve purchased a non-promotional 1-Day ticket from your local military ticketing office, you won’t need to activate your ticket before entering the theme parks. The verification was done when you purchased them. Even though we don't need to, my husband and I still like to bring our military IDs with us, just in case, but this is mostly done out of habit.

Sakina, I hope this helps ease your worries so that you can get back to planning. Now is the time to add on any last-minute dining reservations. So be sure to check out all the available options. Have a great visit, and if there's anything else we can help with, just ask!

    See ya real soon,

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
