    I just purchased a magic key pass for the first time but it's showing the expiration date for a year from purchase date. I haven't used the pass yet and from what I know the year is supposed to start from first use. What do I do?

    Welcome to planDisney! We're so happy you're here, and welcome to the Magic Key pass holder family! How exciting to have purchased your first ever Magic Key pass for the Disneyland Resort! This may be a little glitch, because as you know our sweet Princess Vanellope von Schweetz sure does like to have fun in our tech. I know, it's fun for her, but nerve-wracking for us on the other end! But rest easy, just like Fix-It Felix, we will get to the bottom of your expiration date!

    I have great news! I did a quick check in with a cast member (thanks Tracy Ann!) and at this time, your expiration date shows one year from the date of purchase. Once officially activated, your expiration will update to one year after that first scan. Magic Key passes are valid for one year and are activated at the time of first entry scan into either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. It is also activated when using the parking benefit on a pass for a fully-paid first entry into a pay-on-entry lot at the Disneyland Resort.     You'll want to stay in the know for all the 2024 Disneyland events, and check the Magic Key pass discounts page for all the benefits of being a pass holder.
