    Hi! I purchased a magic key, have not activated it yet. Plan to use it in March. I’m here at DLA on a previously planned and paid for trip. When mobile checking out, it automatically applies the key discount? How is that possible?

    Hey there, Christina, and welcome to planDisney!

    First of all, congratulations on joining us as a new Magic Key Holder! I can't think of a better time to have a Magic Key Pass because starting May 16, 2025, the Disneyland Resort will begin its year-long 70th Anniversary Celebration! There are going to be so many reasons to go back and use that Magic Key! Like the slogan says, time to "celebrate happy!"

    One of the best parts about being a Magic Key Holder are the discounts and benefits we get. It clearly states in the mobile order discount FAQ that "Magic Key discounts are not available until your pass is activated." I happen to be in the same boat that you are. Instead of renewing my Magic Key, I decided to purchase a new one and wait to activate it. So with only an unactivated Magic Key in my account, I tried placing a mobile order using the Disneyland Mobile App and observed that I also got a Magic Key discount. I guess I would chalk it up to one of those happy accidents that work in our favor because this is always subject to change. Please note that you'd also get a discount as a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member or Disney Visa Cardmember. If you have more questions or want to make sure that your Magic Key remains inactivated, please call the Magic Key Holders phone line and I'm sure a Cast Member would be happy to assist you.

    What are you most excited about for this coming 70th Celebration? Everyone is raving about the return of Paint the Night and I was thrilled to hear that Wondrous Journeys is also coming back! If you can make it back on July 17, 2025, that will be the actual anniversary of Disneyland Park's historic opening!
