Hi, I purchased Magic Bands for the family a year ago. How can I tell the Magic Bands will work for our trip this November? Is there a way to test them? We have Memory Maker and I would not want to miss them on their rides. Thanks.

    Hi Carshundra,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope that you're counting down the days until all of the magic and fun begin because the trip you've been dreaming about for months is ALMOST here! SO exciting!

While there isn't a way to test your MagicBands' batteries before you arrive, I'm pleased to tell you that MagicBand batteries should last for several years. I'm betting that the ones you purchased just last fall will be just fine to use again on this upcoming trip. Obviously, if when you arrive, they don't work to access your theme park tickets when you first enter the park, that will let you know that their battery life has ended. Since it may take a bit more power for the readers on the attractions to capture your photos, I'd encourage you to pull up your photos in the My Disney Experience mobile app to make sure they're showing up there. It can take some time before you're able to see them, so don't panic if you don't see them right away, but as long as your MagicBands were functioning fine the last time you used them, they should work great again this time. You'll LOVE being able to relive all of your magical moments with Memory Maker.

I'm so glad that you brought another great question to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Carshundra, and please feel free to keep them coming as you're thinking through all of the final details of your trip. I hope that you and your family have a truly magical vacation this holiday season!
