I purchased Magic bands for our family of 6. We leave for WDW tomorrow and have charged them. My husbands is the only band that does not work. It just keeps saying “reconnection failed” and the Mickey head turns red. Who can I ask to fix this at this point

    Hello there, Holly!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for dropping by with an excellent Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I’m thrilled to hear that your family will be headed to The Most Magical Place on Earth tomorrow! Your family is in for a trip filled with wonder and enchantment. I’d be happy to help you think, think, think through your MagicBand+ pairing issues to get you on your way to your perfect Disney day!

Holly, MagicBand+ allows Guests to experience the Walt Disney World theme parks in an exciting and interactive way. Oh, bother… I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing difficulty when attempting to pair your husband’s band. Here are a few tips that have helped me sort out this same issue in the past:

    1. Ensure your My Disney Experience mobile app is up-to-date by downloading the most recently released version.
    2. Reboot your mobile device.
    3. Ensure that the MagicBand+ is fully charged before attempting to pair to a device.
    4. Complete a factory reset of the MagicBand+ you’re attempting to pair. To do this, quickly push and release the small button on the back of the band. Then, push and hold the button for approximately 15 seconds. The band will vibrate once, then vibrate quickly three times to indicate the factory reset has been initiated, and the ring on the band’s face will glow green once the reset has been completed.
    5. In your mobile device’s Bluetooth connections, try clearing out the connection to the MagicBand+, if you’ve previously paired this band.

If you’ve already attempted each of these steps and are still unable to successfully pair your husband’s MagicBand+, I encourage you to reach out to the helpful Cast Members at the My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ phone line for further assistance. Again, I’m sorry you’re running into trouble with this process, but hope that your family’s fun MagicBand+ interactions and the convenience you experience in the theme parks will make it all worth your while!

Holly, I hope these suggestions help you and your loved ones prepare for a magical and memorable Walt Disney World Resort vacation. The only thing better than a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is experiencing it alongside the people you love! If you have any additional questions before or during your trip, you’re always welcome to wander back to planDisney. We’re here to help you make the most of your Walt Disney World Resort vacations!

    Warm wishes,

    Lauren
