Hi Danielle!
Technology can be completely magical, but sometimes it does have limitations. Unfortunately, this is one of those times!
The current version of the
Disneyland Mobile App does require Apple devices to have
iOS 16 or later. I was able to chat with a Cast Member (Hi, Margaret!) who specializes in technology features and she let me know that you can try using the app on that device, but it may not function correctly or provide updated information. She recommended that you link tickets to the newest device in your party for the best results with the app.
There isn't an alternate method for using
Lightning Lanes in the parks, so it's best to make sure you have a phone with the required operating system updates. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you! I hope this answer gets to you in time to make alternative arrangements. The app is also available in the Google Play store if you happen to have access to a device that could use that version.
You're welcome to link multiple tickets to one account, so if just one person in your party has a mobile device that can support the app then you'll be good to go! I often manage Lightning Lanes for my immediate family as well as friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that we may be traveling with.
I have found that all that pixie dust tends to drain my phone battery faster than normal. It's a good idea to bring a portable phone charger, or you can
purchase one from a kiosk in the parks. The cool part about purchasing an external battery in the parks is that you can swap it out for a freshly charged one whenever you need to!
Thanks again for your question, Danielle. I'm sorry I don't have a great answer for you, but I'm really hoping you'll find a good solution before your trip. I'll be sending lots of happy thoughts your way!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
