Hello! I purchased Disney World tickets through Costco. Could I purchase Magic Bands and link our tickets ahead of time? If so, would I still need to use the Will Call Certificate to pick up our tickets at the park or can we just use the bands to enter?

Hi, Sara! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

As long as you have a Ticket ID or Ticket Order Number, you should be able to link your tickets to your My Disney Experience account. Once you’ve logged into your account, choose “My Plans.” Identify your Planning Party and then follow the prompts through the “My Plans, Reservations and Tickets” button. You can link up to 10 tickets or passes in your account.

There are different types of Walt Disney World Resort tickets with ID numbers between 12 and 20 digits--most with a combination of letters and numbers. If you run into problems linking the tickets you purchased through Costco, you can reach out to the Existing Tickets helpline or check out the Frequently Asked Questions on the Walt Disney World Resort website.

As far as purchasing and linking your MagicBands is concerned, you can certainly do that, too! Although Guests staying at an official Walt Disney World Resort hotel receive complimentary MagicBands with their Resort reservation, any Guest can purchase MagicBands through shopDisney.com or at many of the shops on the Walt Disney World Resort property (including Disney Springs). Linking your MagicBand is basically the same process as linking your tickets; just click “Link to Account” from your My Disney Experience mobile app or online profile and choose “Link MagicBand or Card.” Follow the prompts and you should be good to go! Once your tickets and MagicBands are linked in your My Disney Experience account, you should just be able to use your MagicBand to enter the Theme Parks. (I would recommend hanging onto your actual tickets until you know everything works, though.)

Please let us know if you have any additional questions about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Sara. We’re more than happy to help.
