Hello! We have purchased the Dining plan. I had weight loss surgery and have read where I would be charged an adult credit for Buffet style table service. I was wondering about the character meals specifically At the castle and Akershus? Can I plate share?

    Dear Aimee,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about planning your meals at the Walt Disney World Resort!

I totally understand your concern about paying the adult rate for a fixed price character meal when you do not plan to eat a large amount, but unfortunately the cost is based on age (either 2 and under, 3-9 years old, or 10 and up) and is not based on the amount that you will eat. The cost covers not only the meal but the whole character experience and ambiance of the restaurant, so that's why it doesn't vary with the amount of food eaten.

On the other hand, if you are attending a character meal that does not have a fixed meal price, such as dinner at Be Our Guest Restaurant, then you can certainly order the amount and type of food that works for your specific plan.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
