    I have purchased the Dining Plan for my family's first trip to Disney. My 11 yr old son is an extremely picky eater. I had to buy him an adult dining plan because of his age. Will it be a problem if he orders off the children's menus at restaurants?

    Hi Venus! How exciting to be planning your family's first trip to Walt Disney World!

    My ten-year-old son is also a very picky eater. On our trips, he always has been able to order off of the children's menu even though Disney considers him an "adult."  Some restaurants gave him an adult-sized portion of the child's entree, such as two grilled cheese sandwiches instead of one and a generous helping of french fries.

    Obviously, the cost of a child's meal is much cheaper than the cost of an adult meal at Disney, so using your son's adult dining plan to pay for kids' meals is not the most cost-effective use of your meal credits. At some (non-buffet) restaurants, you may want to consider asking the server if you can pay for your son's meal out-of-pocket instead of using his dining plan credit. Then, other adults in the family could use his adult credits toward their more expensive meals.
