We purchased the Dining Plan for a family of 4. I am confused how to tip at Disney World restaurants. I am guessing we are unable to write a tip on the receipt? Do we have to use cash? Thank you.

    Welcome back to PlanDisney, Jill!

Oh boy! It sounds like you’re gearing up for a deliciously magical adventure at Walt Disney World Resort! With the Disney Dining Plan in hand, you're all set to enjoy some fantastic meals, and I’m here to help clear up any tipping confusion, no Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo required!

Jill, at Table-Service restaurants, gratuity is not included with the Disney Dining Plan (except for certain dining experiences like Cinderella’s Royal Table and other prepaid meals). But don’t worry, leaving a tip is as easy as waving a magic wand, tapping your magic band, or using MagicMobile on your phone!

When dining at a Table-Service restaurant, you can add a tip directly to your receipt and pay using a credit card, debit card, Disney Gift Card, or a MagicBand linked to your Disney Resort hotel reservation. If you prefer to tip in cash, that works too! Cast Members appreciate the extra sprinkle of gratitude, no matter which way you choose to leave it.

One thing to keep in mind. If your party has six or more Guests, an 18% gratuity will automatically be added to your bill. You’ll see it noted on your receipt before you settle up.

Now that you’re all set on tipping, it’s time to focus on the fun part… eating your way through The Most Magical Place on Earth! My favorites (currently, haha) are Toledo - Tapas, Steak & Seafood, for a fancy evening with tasty tapas and incredible views, Topolino's Terrace for Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends, the cutest character breakfast in the World, and if you ask my youngest, she’ll highly recommend Roundup Rodeo BBQ inside Toy Story Land, for a family style, all-you-care-to-eat experience that even Andy would rave about!

If you need any more dining tips, I’m all ears! Wishing you a trip filled with delicious bites and magical nights!
