Hi Linda! I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding dining reservations for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. Guests can begin making dining reservations 180 days in advance of their vacations, and during busy times of year, some restaurants can get booked up quickly. However Walt Disney World has lots of fantastic restaurants and I've often been able to book great meals, even at the last minute. I have a tip to help you find restaurants with availability: On the main
Dining and Reservations page, rather than searching for a specific restaurant or a certain time, do a general search for a meal to pull up all the restaurants with availability for that meal. You can do this by selecting a date, party size, and meal period (such as "breakfast" or "dinner") in the search boxes on the right of the screen while leaving the restaurant, location and cuisine boxes blank. I'm always surprised by the number of restaurants that pop up with availability when I search this way, rather than limiting my search to a specific restaurant at a certain time, which can limit the results. Also, because many restaurants have a cancellation policy, last-minute openings do occur. I've often been able to snag a table at a restaurant that had been booked up for months by checking for a reservation just a few days before my trip or even by calling from my resort room the day before.
If you decide that you do want to remove the Dining Plan from your vacation package, I recommend you call 407-W-DISNEY or your travel agent to discuss modifying your reservation.
