Hiya Martha,
Welcome to planDisney. Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, it's off to
Walt Disney World Resort you go, and at the absolute perfect time of the yEAR! Not only will you be able to enjoy all the festivities surrounding the 50th anniversary celebration, but you will be able to enjoy the wonderful holiday decorations and entertainment.
It sounds like you are interested in exchanging one of your standard
theme park admission tickets for a ticket to
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Unfortunately theme park tickets are
nontransferable and nonrefundable and special event tickets, like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party need to be purchased separately. Therefore, you will not be able to exchange one of your current theme park tickets for the special event. While I know that is not the answer you were hoping for, I do have a few suggestions.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a fantastic party, offered on select evenings from early November through mid December. The event offers little-to-no-wait times on most attractions, as well as character interactions, holiday treats, fireworks, a parade and special entertainment options that are only seen on party nights. I think it is well worth the additional cost, and if you are able, I highly recommend purchasing this additional special event ticket. While the party does not begin until 7pm, party-goers are permitted into
Magic Kingdom at 4pm on the day of their party. This means you could do one of two things.
If you are able to extend your trip out an extra day, you could purchase a ticket to the party and spend that morning enjoying your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel and then head over to Magic Kingdom for the 4pm party entrance time. If you are not able to extend your trip, you could always choose a different theme park to enjoy during the morning and early afternoon, and then pop over to Magic Kingdom for the evening's holiday party.
I hope this information helps you choose the perfect plan for your visit. If I can help with any additional planning questions, please stop in and
see me.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Margaret
