I purchased a 1-day ticket with Water Park/Sports option. I reserved Hollywood Studios for July 8. July 8-9 were the only availability for that theme park the week we're there. Can I utilize the park/sports option prior to using the theme park ticket?

From exploring the planet of Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to playing in Andy’s backyard in Toy Story Land, you’re sure to have an incredible time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! And although you’ve got some choices to make with the Water Parks and Sports Option with your theme park ticket, I have to tell you I absolutely love Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park! I could hang out at Melt-Away Bay all day, only getting out to eat the yummy Mini Donuts by Joffrey's Coffee™ at Blizzard Beach!

Teresa, I went to purchase a Walt Disney World Resort theme park ticket like yours, and if I select July 8th on the calendar, it shows:
“1-Day Ticket with Admission to 1 Park Per Day and Water Park and Sports Option Valid any 1 day from Thu, Jul 8, 2021 – Fri, Jul 9, 2021.”

This would mean you are able to use your ticket either way on the 8th and 9th, and because your Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios is on the 8th, you will be able to use your Water Park and Sports Option on the 9th.
