Aloha Deanna!
I just returned from 6 magical nights at
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. I haven’t felt so relaxed in years as I did lounging on the pool deck, floating down the lazy river, or sipping cocktails at the
The ‘Olelo Room. You are in for a fantastic vacation!
The Aulani App is useful for knowing the daily schedule and checking restaurant menus and locations. The app isn’t quite as involved or necessary as the Disneyland App or My Disney Experience if you are used to using those Mobile Apps for your vacations. There isn’t even an actual need to link the reservation, so if you choose not to, you’ll still be good to go on your vacation.
The one reason to have your reservation linked is to make dining reservations online for
Makahiki - Bounty of the Islands. Right now they can be made for Resort Guests only, 30 days out from the day you wish to dine. You can also call to make reservations over the phone. Hold times are not as lengthy as they are currently for Disneyland and Walt Disney World, so you shouldn’t have too much difficulty getting through.
Once you have the App downloaded and you are signed in, you should see a “Welina, Deanna” on the opening page of the app, with a link underneath to Retrieve a Reservation. This is where you go to link your new reservation. Guests often run into hurdles when booking through third-party vendors such as Costco. They offer great deals, but what I believe happens is they give you a Costco or vendor reservation number for their sales package, not a Disney reservation number. Because it isn’t a Disney number, the system doesn’t recognize it. If you are running into this issue you’ll need to contact for help via phone. I would start with calling Aulani booking at 866-443-4763 to see if they can assist. Their hours are 7 AM to 9 AM Pacific Time. If they are unable to get you the correct number they may recommend you contact Costco. Once you have the correct resort reservation (not vacation package) reservation number, you should be good to go.
I hope this helps, Deanna. Mahalo, (thank you) for bringing us your question, and please let me know if you have any additional questions about your trip. I love talking about Aulani!
