Hi, Layla! You've asked an excellent question! First of all, welcome to the
Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family! Make sure to bookmark the
Passholder Discounts webpage. Many dining locations offer a 10% Passholder discount, and most merchandise is 20% off (which comes in handy for all those souven-EARs).
The Cast Member you spoke with is correct- If it is within 14 days of a theme park ticket’s first use, you are usually able to
upgrade to an Annual Pass by visiting one of the following locations in person: Theme park ticket windows, Guest Relations locations, or any
Lobby Concierge desk at a Walt Disney Resort hotel. Once you are ready to upgrade, you will be charged the difference in the price you paid for the ticket and the Annual Pass. One stipulation, however, is your ticket has to have at least one full day of admission left on it. If your daughter has already used her One Day Ticket, you won't be able to use it for upgrading purposes. That being said, if you plan to be in the Parks more than a handful of times during the year, buying an Annual Pass for her is still a good idea, especially since Florida residents are eligible for the discounted
Gold Pass.
Enjoy your entire yEAR of Annual Pass magic, Layla, and make sure to visit us again if you have any more questions!
