Hello Kathleen! I’m so glad you stopped by with this question, because capturing memories is such a big part of any Disneyland visit (and those photos tend to become even more precious as the years go by).
If you’re mainly interested in unlimited digital photos, the good news is that yes, you can purchase
Disney PhotoPass separately without buying Lightning Lane access. The option you’ll want to look for is
Disney PhotoPass+ One Week. This allows you to download all of your Disney PhotoPass photos taken over a seven-day period for one flat price. That includes photos snapped by PhotoPass photographers around
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park, along with select attraction photos. Since pricing can change, I recommend checking the Disneyland website or
app for the most current cost.
That said, if you’re also planning to experience several attractions, it’s worth considering
Lightning Lane Multi Pass as an alternative. In addition to helping you save time by accessing Lightning Lane entrances on select attractions, Lightning Lane Multi Pass also includes unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos for the day. It’s a nice two-for-one option that combines efficiency with memory-making (and who doesn’t love that combination?). You’ll also unlock
Disney PhotoPass Lenses in the Disneyland app, which add fun augmented-reality effects that are especially entertaining for families and groups.
If you haven’t purchased your
theme park tickets yet, you can add Lightning Lane Multi Pass (which includes PhotoPass) during checkout on the Disneyland website as a ticket add-on. If your tickets are already purchased, you may still be able to add it closer to your visit through the Disneyland app, depending on availability.
One PhotoPass tip I always love sharing is to lean into attraction photos whenever you can. My family has made it a tradition to strike a pose on certain rides, and we’ve recreated the same one year after year. One of our most treasured keepsakes is a recurring photo from
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure; it’s amazing how a single snapshot can tell such a long story. Having a signature pose is a fun way to add personality to your PhotoPass gallery and create memories you’ll smile about long after you’re home.
I hope this helps as you decide which option works best for your trip, Kathleen. If you have any additional planning questions, please visit us here again at planDisney.
And don’t forget to say cheese!
