Welcome to planDisney, Kelly!
Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration is in full swing, and there are so many exciting offerings to explore. One of the most magical additions this summer is “
A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour at Disneyland Resort,” a wonderful way to honor the park’s rich history while experiencing some special perks along the way.
As you mentioned, one highlight of the guided tour is access to a reserved viewing area for the
Paint the Night parade on the evening of your tour. This section is located in Town Square Plaza, right across from the steps leading up to the Disneyland Railroad Main Street Station. While there are no chairs provided in this area, you’ll be able to sit curbside for a front-row view as the dazzling floats glide by in a swirl of lights and music. A quick tip: although it’s reserved, I recommend arriving a little early, as Guests from other 70th Anniversary tours that day will also be joining you.
If you're looking for an alternate location to view Paint the Night, I highly recommend the area directly across from the entrance to “it’s a small world.” While this spot isn’t reserved, it offers a fantastic view of the first parade performance of the evening. And the best part? You can stay in the same place to catch Wondrous Journeys shortly afterward. It’s one of those Disneyland corners that gives you double the magic from a single location.
And as an added bonus, that area is also one of the prime spots to watch A Tapestry of Happiness, a joyful projection show on the façade of “it’s a small world.” It’s a nostalgic tribute to attractions both classic and current, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite elements of the 70th celebration.
I hope this helps you plan your perfect parade-viewing evening, Kelly! If any more questions come up, we’re always here at planDisney and happy to help.
Wishing you a magical stay,
David
