Hi, Sandra! Welcome to planDisney. You've come to the right place, and I'm happy to help!
When
purchasing a ticket directly through the Disneyland website, your theme park reservation date is booked simultaneously in one step. During the transaction, you will be asked to select a date(s) before completing your purchase. The Disneyland website states, "A
theme park reservation does not guarantee park admission or access to any experience, attraction or offering." However, I've yet to hear that anyone with both a reservation and valid admission get turned away.
Since you're coming from out of town, you may want to consider booking a
Disney Resort Hotel Vacation Package, especially if you plan to visit the parks for multiple days. Packages contain both your admission and your accommodations. They also come with a Magical Extras Savings Card that can be used at select dining and merchandise locations in the
Downtown Disney District. Theme park dates have been bookable for a while now, as they can be reserved up to 120 days in advance, and hotel stays have been bookable since last year. So whether you decide to go with a vacation package or just theme park tickets, I recommend reserving soon.
Sandra, if you truly want to have a spook-tacular time, think about going to
Oogie Boogie Bash, which is Disneyland's separately ticketed Halloween party. Guests get early admission to
Disney California Adventure Park beginning at 3:00 PM on select dates, and no theme park reservations are required. Have a magical vacation!
