If you purchase shipboard credit with Disney gift cards, can that be used for the unlimited photo package? Thanks.

    Ahoy, Debra!

I’m so thrilled you’re considering the Unlimited Photo Package for your upcoming Disney cruise! From magical moments onboard to breathtaking backdrops at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay, there’s nothing quite like having a professional photographer capture those memories. One of my all-time favorite photos is from Castaway Cay—it’s the four of us perfectly framed with Pelican Plunge in the background. It’s a snapshot I’ll treasure forever!

Now, to answer your question—yes, you can absolutely use shipboard credit purchased with Disney Gift Cards to pay for the Unlimited Photo Package! Here’s how it works: All onboard charges, including things like Port Adventures, shopping, gratuities, specialty dining, and yes, photo packages, will be added to your stateroom folio. The shipboard credit from your gift cards will then automatically be applied to those charges. If your gift card credit doesn’t quite cover everything, the remaining balance will be charged to the payment method you selected during Online Check-in. It’s a seamless process, just like Disney magic!

While we’re on the topic of onboard perks, I have to share one of my favorite traditions—booking a placeholder reservation for a future cruise. Every time we sail, I make sure to take advantage of this incredible opportunity. Presently, for just $250 per stateroom (up to two staterooms), you’ll lock in a 10 percent discount on a future Disney cruise. The best part? It’s completely refundable if you decide not to use it! You can book your placeholder right from the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app by clicking on the “10% Off a Future Cruise” button while onboard.

Now, there are a few limitations to the placeholder to keep in mind. The discount doesn’t apply to concierge-level staterooms, and black-out dates (like holiday sailings) may apply. Also, remember the placeholder is good for 24 months from the date you book it, so you’ll want to plan and sail within that timeframe to take full advantage. Unlike other onboard purchases, the placeholder fee is currently charged immediately and doesn’t go on your stateroom folio.

Debra, I hope this helps you navigate your way to smooth sailing with gift cards and onboard credits! Whether you’re posing for photos with Captain Mickey, exploring the pristine beaches of Castaway Cay, or planning your next magical adventure at sea, you’re in for an unforgettable journey.

Wishing you smooth seas, picture-perfect moments, and all the Disney magic your heart can hold!

Sea ya real soon with pixie dust and ocean breezes,
    Dustin
