Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Varsha! I’m excited to know that you have a
Summertime visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in the works!
When it comes to purchasing and using
Florida Resident theme park tickets, they must first be activated by showing Proof of Florida Residency. You and your husband may absolutely purchase Florida Resident theme park tickets for yourselves, but your daughter and her husband would not be able to use those discounted tickets. That’s because, anyone over the age of 18 must show valid ID to prove their Florida residency at any Ticket window or Disney Springs Guest Services location, in order to be able to use this type of ticket.
Varsha, you may, however, purchase a theme park ticket for a child under the age of 18, your granddaughter. All you would have to do is activate her ticket using your
Proof of Florida Residency. It’s important to note that your granddaughter’s ticket would only need to be activated on the first visit of a multiple day ticket.
I encourage you to take a look at the
Special Offers page on the official Disney site. Mickey and his friends offer all kinds of promotions for Florida Residents. You can absolutely use your resident status to book a Disney Resort hotel and stay with your family at the discounted rate.
Don’t hesitate to stop back in to see us if you have any additional planning questions. Helping you with the details of your next visit to the most magical place on earth is our pleasure!
