Lisa,
Unfortunately no, you cannot add the Park Hopping option to just a single day of a multi-day theme park ticket. The Park Hopper ticket option is designed to be added to the entire ticket package.
Now that may not be what you were hoping to hear, but I can tell you that I consider getting the Park Hopper Option as one of the best decisions anyone makes when planning a Walt Disney World vacation.
Why?Reason 1: The ease of the hopHopping has gotten even easier at Walt Disney World since the arrival of the
Disney Skyliner. Hopping between
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios has not just become simpler, it is a treat. The flight from one to the other on these gondolas is a lovely, scenic trip that gives you a nice 20-minute rest in the middle of your day.
Reason 2: The ease of the hop, part 2Hopping between the
Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT was always easy with the
monorail. In my opinion, a monorail ride is on my
Top 10 Must Do! activities at Walt Disney World. It is an iconic experience not to be missed.
Reason 3: Food is my favorite attractionMy family has started to run into the issue of having too many restaurant favorites in EPCOT. One daughter loves the
Biergarten Restaurant with the entertaining band while my other daughter wants to get pizza at
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. My wife wants to visit the Parisian bistro of
Chefs de France, and I prefer to just walk around and share little plates from all the countries. With the Park Hopper option, we will visit another park in the morning and early afternoon, and then head over to EPCOT for some shopping and dinner, hitting everyone's favorite dinner venue throughout the week.
It is important to point out here some of the rules currently associated with park hopping. You cannot park hop until 2 PM, and the park you head to has to have availability. But I have never had a problem getting in to a second park on my travels. If you were trying to get into the Magic Kingdom on a super busy day, like Christmas Day, you likely would have a problem, but most days you should be fine.
BOTTOM LINE
If you end up getting the park hopper option, don't think of the other three days as wasted money. Let the flexibility of hopping help you make the most of your trip.
BONUS TIP #1When getting ready for your next park hop, just call
(407) 560-5000. That is the Park Hopping Hotline (or at least that is what I call it!), and it will tell you the status of all the parks, and if the park you want to hop to has space.
BONUS TIP #2A dining reservation in a park you want to hop to does not guarantee you entry. Even so, we still use park hopping as a way to get to some of the amazing dining at EPCOT!
