Visiting Walt Disney World for a few days and then embarking on a Disney Cruise is such an amazing vacation plan! While you will be able to use your Memory Maker at the Walt Disney World Resorts and Parks, the photos on the cruise are run a different way.
You can visit the Gifts and Amenities section on the Disney Cruise Line website to check out the photo package options. If you click on the "My Cruise Photos", it will redirect you to the website to pre-purchase your cruise photos at a discount.
Each night on the ship, the photographers have three or four backdrops set up in the atrium. Your family can have photos taken at each one, in many configurations. We often have our entire family taken, then just the kids, then just the adults, so at any backdrop, we might have six or more photos taken. This ensures that I will have at least one good photo for the scrapbook. There are also character photos that are taken in the atrium, or outside the Walt Disney Theater.
Our family has been on eleven Disney Cruises, and purchased the photo CD onboard each time. The photographers are excellent, and we are always happy with the quality of the photos. Our daughters love to get dressed up and head down to the atrium and have pictures taken together, which we encourage. Since there is no photo limit, I tell the girls to take ALL possible photos (you never know when you will unexpectedly get the PERFECT one). On one of our seven night cruises, we had over three hundred pictures on our CD!
Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your question. If we can answer more cruise planning questions, please let us know!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
