Hi there, Jen! Thanks for taking the time to visit planDisney. It sounds like you are planning the "Picture Perfect" vacation!
You are smart to consider getting
Memory Maker before your trip because it allows unlimited digital downloads of all your
PhotoPass photos from your vacation. If you want that quintessential group shot in front of Cinderella Castle, the best way to get it is by using Disney PhotoPass Service. And sometimes, they may ask you to pose in a
goofy way; it's always a surprise to discover later that Tinkerbell is sitting in the palm of your hands or that you're holding a bouquet of Mickey balloons. Magic Shots are fun ways that PhotoPass photographers can enhance your photos (and here's a tip: I always inquire if one is available. They aren't always, but it doesn't hurt to ask). The Photographers are stationed at hundreds of locations in the Parks, Resorts, and Disney Springs, so it's easy to get your money's worth. If you're on Instagram, I recommend following @disneyphotopass for the most up-to-date information!
Walt Disney World's
health and safety guidelines currently state that face coverings are
optional for Guests in
outdoor areas, so as long as you choose PhotoPass locations outdoors, you can be mask-free. However, face coverings are
required for all Guests (ages two and up) in all
indoor areas, regardless of vaccination status. PhotoPass cameras are positioned in a number of indoor attractions, so guests will need to keep their masks on for these camera ops. And, although Disney PhotoPass photographers are not available in
Mickey's Town Square Theater Meet and Greet, Cast Members will happily take socially distanced photos with your camera, as long as you are masked. This is a great way to see him in his EARidescent 50th-anniversary outfit, so don't miss it! Of course, these current policies are subject to change by the time of your trip, so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for any updates.
Happy planning, and get ready, Jen, to
say cheese with the Big Cheese!
