Walt once said, "Your work is never finished." I love how the Disney company embraces this philosophy and constantly innovates to enhance its designs. The MagicBand has long been a staple of Walt Disney World vacations, but now we have the new and improved
MagicBand+. This new wearable still has the familiar features of the original version, like tapping your band to enter your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room or the Theme Parks, but there are a few fun new tweaks. I think you're going to love it!
If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or are an Annual Passholder, the easiest way to get your MagicBand+ is to prepurchase it through your
My Disney Experience account. This way, you are eligible for a discount! Look under the "My Magicbands and Cards" tab, and as long as your trip is more than ten days away, it will ship to your home. If you are within 6-10 days of your arrival date, you can ask for them to be sent to the front desk of your resort. If you are not staying on property, you can purchase one online on the
shopDisney website. Alternatively, you can wait and pick one up at most merchandise locations in the theme parks or
World of Disney in Disney Springs.
Each MagicBand+ comes with a small black USB cord, which is your handy-dandy MagicBand+ charger. If you plan to do some Bounty Hunting on Batuu through the
Disney Parks Play app, you'll need to pay attention to the battery life. Press the small bottom on the back of the band to check the charge of your MagicBand+ at any time. If it turns yellow, it's time to charge. It takes about two hours of charging for it to turn green. I also like to charge mine each night after being in the parks.
