Welcome to planDisney, Shanon! I’m so glad you brought this question our way.
Lightning Lanes can be such a helpful tool when planning a day at the Disneyland Resort, especially during those bright summer months when the parks are full of energy, sunshine, and all the excitement that comes with longer park hours. Let’s walk through how the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and
Lightning Lane Premier Pass work together so you can step into your Disney day with confidence.
To begin, yes! Guests may use both the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and the Lightning Lane Premier Pass during the same visit. Each pass has its own style of how you access attractions, and using them together gives you flexible options for planning. The Premier Pass doesn’t require you to choose return times in advance. Instead, when you’re ready for your next attraction, just head to that attraction’s Lightning Lane entrance! The
Disneyland app will also show which experiences you’ve already enjoyed, keeping everything organized as you go.
The Lightning Lane Multi Pass works a little differently. With this option, you’ll select return times through the Disneyland app for the attractions included in the Multi Pass lineup. Once you redeem one selection, you’ll be able to choose another throughout the day. No matter which pass you’re using, though, each attraction may only be redeemed once per pass.
Because the Premier Pass functions differently from the Multi Pass, it appears in a different spot in the Disneyland app. Instead of being listed under your tickets, you’ll find it in the “Today’s Plans” section. The “My Day” feature there gives you a clear, easy overview of everything available and everything completed. It’s like your own personal attraction checklist.
And here’s one summertime Q-Tip: try arriving early. There’s something special about starting your day before the park is fully buzzing. You could catch the morning breeze as you glide through Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or take in the golden morning glow over Pixar Pier before the midday sun sets in. Early arrivals often mean shorter standby waits and extra smooth Lightning Lane planning. Plus, you’ll have more time later to relax with a Dole Whip in the shade or enjoy a golden-hour stroll along Paradise Gardens Park.
Shanon, I hope this helps you feel ready to take on your Disney day with ease. If more questions come your way, we’d be delighted to welcome you back to planDisney anytime.
Have an incredible day filled with magical moments!
