Hey, Hey, Ken (or should I say
"Hei Hei," Ken) because, like
Moana, I'm going to be acting as your Wayfinder today to point you in the right direction to make your important Lightning Lane Passes. So welcome to planDisney, where
we know the way to the answers to your vacation questions.
Ken, it looks like you've got a trip coming up soon, so let's dive right in. To get started with making your Lightning Lane selections, the first thing you'll want to do is download the
My Disney Experience app. This handy app is where you will purchase Lightning Lane passes. I'm sharing a link
HERE that will help you navigate all the great features of this amazing time-saving service.
As for when to make your purchase, Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or other select hotel can begin purchasing Lightning Lane Passes starting 7 days before your arrival for the length of stay, up to 14 days. For Guests not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, selections are made 3 days before visiting the theme park. You can start making selections bright and early at 7 AM on the day, you can choose.
Ken, this service is a huge time saver! As you make your selections, I have a few tips to share. Lightning Lane Passes are designed as "use one, get one." For instance, if your first Lightning Lane pass is for
Haunted Mansion at 9 AM, the moment you use that pass, you can go back into the app to select a new ride based on availability. Because you can choose a new attraction as soon as you use a pass, I recommend getting your first few selections as early as possible. This approach typically gives you the most value from your passes.
One of the best features of Lightning Lanes is that passes can be modified anytime, so keep checking the app even after you've made your selections.
I hope this helps explain the Lightning Lane system. Of course,
every turn you take, every trail you track, every path you take, every road leads back to planDisney if you need further help planning your magical journey.
Thank you for stopping by.
You're welcome anytime,
Shonette
