Hi Steffany! Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you reached out with this question. Adding a personalized touch to a Disney souvenir is one of those small-but-special details that can make a keepsake feel truly yours. My family still has the first embroidered ear hats we chose for our daughters before their very first visits, and those names stitched across the back always bring back a flood of warm memories whenever we spot them at home.
When it comes to personalization options, offerings can shift from time to time, and availability often depends on the type of item you’re hoping to customize.
World of Disney in Downtown Disney occasionally offers embroidery or other personalization, but it isn’t guaranteed for every product category. Fabric-based items (such as certain traditional ear hats or soft goods) are usually more likely to be eligible, while items made of leather, structured materials, or specialty finishes may not be suited for embroidery. Because of this, the best approach is to ask a Cast Member before purchasing the item you have in mind. They can let you know whether embroidery is possible or if a different form of personalization might be offered instead.
If embroidery isn’t an option for the item you purchased, don’t worry; there are still some wonderful alternatives available throughout the Disneyland Resort. For instance,
Plaza Point on Main Street (inside Disneyland) has featured beautifully hand-painted personalization on certain items, including ear hats and ornaments. In some cases, you might even be able to add a date or name in decorative lettering, which creates a lovely keepsake.
Crystal Arts provides custom engraving on glassware and elegant décor pieces, and they make fantastic display items. And if you’re looking for something especially charming, the
Silhouette Studio on Main Street offers hand-cut silhouette portraits crafted in just a couple of minutes. Our daughters’ silhouettes are framed in our home, and they’ve become some of our most cherished Disneyland mementos.
Before your trip, I suggest opening the
Disneyland app to browse shop locations, current offerings, and operating hours (and, of course, to scout out snacks you might want to mobile order while you’re nearby). It’s a helpful way to confirm what’s available during your visit.
Steffany, I hope this helps you choose the perfect personalized treasure for your upcoming trip. If you’d like ideas for delicious seasonal treats, peaceful corners for a mid-visit break, or any other planning tips, we’d be delighted to see you again at planDisney.
Happy Holidays, and may your visit be filled with joy, sparkle, and a touch of pixie dust,
David
