Ahoy, Alicia!
How exciting that you’re looking to plan a
Disney Cruise Line vacation! There’s absolutely nothing like it, from the impeccable service and gorgeous ports of call to the Broadway-caliber performances and delicious food. You’re going to have an amazing time, and using
Disney Reward Dollars to help fund this vacation will make it even sweeter. I’m happy to help you understand how to apply these well-earned dollars to your cruise payments.
Each time you use your
Disney Visa Credit Card from Chase to pay for anything, you earn Disney Reward Dollars as a percentage of that spending. On the secure Chase website, you then log into your account to see the value of these rewards and move the desired funds to a Rewards Redemption Card. You may also call the phone number on the back of your credit card to get a Rewards Redemption Card, if preferred. This physical card acts like a Disney Gift Card in that you can use it for most Disney purchases, including a Disney Cruise Line vacation! You are also
eligible for discounts onboard just for being a Disney Visa cardholder – I recently sailed on the
Disney Magic and my Key to the World card had an indication of this benefit so I easily received the additional savings onboard when applicable.
Once you have moved those earned dollars to a Rewards Redemption Card, you can use it to make your deposit or additional payments when you finalize the transaction on the Disney Cruise Line website. On the last page of making a reservation, Disney Rewards Redemption Card is one of the options for payment – you enter your account number and security code and like magic, those bonus funds are applied to your vacation! You may do this when making additional payments towards the final cost as well up until your paid-in-full date.
You can also use those Reward Dollars to purchase onboard credit before sailing if you want to get ahead of the charges to be applied during your cruise. Please
see this answer I recently shared with a Guest for details on how to do that if you’re interested.
The only thing left is to decide where and when to sail, Alicia! I’ve now sailed on four of the five
beautiful Disney ships, and you really can’t go wrong. Each one is very special with spaces for everyone in your family to find something fun to do or a quiet place to relax. As you’re from Louisiana, you may want to look at the
sailings out of New Orleans! I was on the inaugural sailing out of this port in 2020 and again last month – it's very easy to navigate with smooth logistics on embarkation day, and I love sailing down the great Mississippi on that first evening with so many unique sights along the way.
Please let us know if you have additional questions about selecting a cruise or finalizing the travel details once you have plans underway. We’re here to help you have the best time!
Happy planning!
