Hi Debbie,
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is such a beautiful place to stay, combining the Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American cultures with all the magic you'd expect from a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. As a Disney foodie, this resort checks all the boxes with delicious dining options like the rooftop Toledo — Tapas, Steak & Seafood, the fan-favorite Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago, and the always-convenient El Mercado de Coronado. You'll have plenty of tasty choices to enjoy without ever leaving your resort!
How exciting that you're pairing your
Walt Disney World Resort stay with a
Disney Cruise Line voyage! My family and I are doing something similar later this year, staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort before sailing on a Very Merrytime Bahamian cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy. I think you're going to love the combo of parks and adventures at sea!
To answer your question about purchasing a
MagicBand+ at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, yes, you’ll be able to find MagicBand+ options in the resort’s gift shop, though the selection may be a bit limited. If you’re looking for a larger variety or want a specific design, I highly recommend visiting
Disney’s Pin Trader at Disney Springs. In my opinion, this location has one of the widest assortments of MagicBand+ designs available, and while you're there, it's the perfect excuse to do a little extra shopping for Disney gear before your cruise!
As for using a MagicBand+ on Disney Cruise Line,
the short answer is yes, with a small twist. When sailing with Disney Cruise Line, your MagicBand+ becomes a DisneyBand+ on
select sailings across the fleet, using the same technology and offering similar convenience onboard. If you already have a MagicBand+ linked to your Disney account, you may be able to use it on your cruise as a DisneyBand+ once it has been linked to your reservation in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Just keep in mind that while using a DisneyBand+ on the ship is optional, it can add to the ease of your experience, allowing you to unlock your stateroom door, make purchases, and check in for youth activities.
If you have any more questions as you prepare for your land and sea adventure,
I’d love to help! Before I go, here’s one more tip. Don’t forget about the complimentary water park admission available on your Walt Disney World Resort hotel check-in day. It’s a fantastic way to kick off your vacation, and since it’s right next door to Disney Springs (where you’ll transfer buses to get back to your resort), it makes for a perfectly timed stop.
Wishing you smooth sailing!
Brent
