Hi Kim,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! Letting my kids pick their own
MagicBand+ designs is one way I can involve them in vacation planning. I mean, when I ask them what rides they want to go on, they say “All of them!” And when I ask about dining options, somehow the conversation always leads to DOLE whips and Mickey ice cream bars.
If you’d like to pick your MagicBands before you enter the theme parks, the
D-Tech on Demand location in Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs offers customization of mobile accessories and you may still find MagicBand options available. On a recent visit to Walt Disney World, I noticed the customization stations in
Tomorrowland Launch Depot were still there, but they were closed at the time.
I hope this points you in the right direction, Kim. If you’re unable to create personalized MagicBands, the MagicBand+ is a great alternative. There are so many designs available, from solid colors to characters and even attractions. A few years ago, my son picked out a Grogu MagicBand+ but we recently saw a Lightning McQueen design that we might have to pick up on our next visit! Another great feature of the MagicBand+ is how the bands interact with shows and attractions. It always catches us by surprise when the bands buzz and light up during “Let It Go” at the
Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, or when they flash red and vibrate like a heartbeat on
Haunted Mansion.
Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World with your children, Kim! We’re here at
planDisney if you have any future questions!
