Miranda,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Park Hopping is such a great way to get more done in your day at Walt Disney World! I love spending the morning at one park, and then jetting off to other adventures in the afternoon. With the addition of the
Disney Skyliner there is nothing more fun than to fight the Empire at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in the morning, then reward myself with a fantastic dinner in the World Showcase in
EPCOT!
Being a rebel builds up an appetite! However, when you do park hop, the park that you hop to has to have availability. So no, you are not guaranteed to be able to get into your preferred second park. To answer a possible follow-up question, even if you have a dining reservation in that second park, that still will not grant you access to the park if capacity has been reached.
I want to temper that answer by pointing out that I have never had a day where I park hopped where I was unable to get into my second park of the day. I am sure there are super-busy days where park hopping into a specific park is going to be a problem, like trying to get into the
Magic Kingdom Park on the afternoon of Christmas Day. But with the knowledge that it
could happen, I think in most cases you will find it unlikely that it will happen.
How do you know if a park has capacity for you to park hop? Easy! Just call
(407) 560-5000, and the automated line will tell you of any restrictions. I just tried it seconds ago, and as of 4:42 pm today, all parks are open and welcoming park hoppers!
Write me back if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
