We want to purchase a 3 day single park ticket and add on the waterpark for use on the 4th day. Monday-MK, Tuesday-EPCOT, Wednesday- water park, Thursday-AK - will that work? Or does the add-on have to be used on a park day?

    Rachel,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

The beautiful thing about how Walt Disney World theme park tickets work is that while you may buy a specific number of park days, you are not too regimented in how you have to use them.

For example, you were looking at getting a 3-day theme park ticket package, with the add on for a water park visit. You can use those 3 theme park tickets across a 5-day period. Fitting in a water park day on Wednesday, the third day of that 5-day period, is totally fine! You do not have to visit the water park on the same day that you use a theme park ticket. Besides, there is so much to do at the Disney water parks, who would want to rush the experience!

    BONUS TIP #1
As a rule, Disney gives you more days to redeem your theme park tickets than the actual number of park days you are purchasing. Here are the ranges.

    • 2-day theme park ticket package across a 4-day period
    • 3-day theme park ticket package across a 5-day period
    • 4-day theme park ticket package across a 7-day period
    • 5-day theme park ticket package across an 8-day period
    • 6-day theme park ticket package across a 9-day period
    • 7-day theme park ticket package across a 10-day period
    • 8-day theme park ticket package across a 12-day period
    • 9-day theme park ticket package across a 13-day period
    • 10-day theme park ticket package across a 14-day period

    BONUS TIP #2
If you would like to plus up your water park visit to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, I strongly recommend you consider booking either a Beachcomber Shack or make a Typhoon Lagoon Umbrella reservation. In both cases you get a "home base" where you can keep your belongings and give your family a place to meet up. In the case of the Beachcomber shacks, you also get a nice, secluded place with incredible views of the wave pool for your family to connect and relax between activities. Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park has similar options as well. Just call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529 to make a reservation.

I was at Typhoon Lagoon earlier this year, so if you have any follow-up questions, please feel free to write me directly.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
