Hi, Leeann!
Welcome, and thanks for bringing a
Disneyland Resort question to us here at
planDisney. It sounds like you’re busy getting all your pixie-dusted plans in order for your upcoming vacation!
The Park Hopper option is wonderful because it gives you access to both
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park throughout each day of your visit. Moving back and forth between the two adjacent theme parks is the best way to maximize your time and fit as much magic into your days as possible, especially when you check the
attraction wait times available in the
Disneyland mobile app!
While you generally can add the
Park Hopper option to an existing
theme park ticket, you are not able to add it to just one day of a multi-day ticket. Whether you add it at the time of your initial ticket purchase or upgrade later (pending availability) after you’ve already used it to enter a theme park, the Park Hopper cost for the designated number of days must be added to the entire length of your ticket. So, if you’re thinking of upgrading, it makes the most financial sense to do it as soon as possible so you can start taking advantage of park hopping privileges at the beginning of your trip. Adding the Park Hopper option to a 3-Day ticket would typically still cost less than purchasing a 2-Day One Park Per Day ticket plus a 1-Day Park Hopper ticket separately.
I hope this information helps you make plans, Leeann, and that your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth is packed with magical moments from start to finish! Please
write back with any other questions that come to mind as your vacation draws near.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
