Welcome to planDisney, Linda! Thank you for reaching out and trusting us with your very first question. I'd be happy to help you navigate Disney World services for Guests with mobility needs to ensure your family has the best time during your upcoming visit.
You will be happy to know that you can undoubtedly bring wheelchairs and ECVs to Disney World theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs or rent them directly through Disney or partners like ScooterBug for a nominal fee. If you choose to
rent a wheelchair or
an ECV with Disney, you can pick it up in front of any water or theme park and pay for the day. If you are park hopping, you must return your rented device when leaving the park and then show your receipt to the next location to get a new one. You only need to pay once for the day.
If you choose to rent through ScooterBug, you can arrange to have your equipment delivered to your Disney Resort room. You don't even need to be present, as Cast Members will store and even return it for you.
I have a few important notes to make your experience seamless: ECVs and wheelchair rentals at Disney World are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted, so plan to arrive early. Guests must be 18 years of age to rent, and the maximum weight is 450 pounds for ECVs and 350 pounds for wheelchairs.
It's also a good idea to check the
Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page before your visit to understand everything at your disposal, like Disability Parking, Transportation Accessibility, Dedicated Load and Unload areas on attractions, and much more.
I hope this information helps with your planning, Linda! If you have any other questions before, during, or after your visit, please feel free
to come back anytime and let us know. We are always happy and ready to help our fantastic friends like you.
Cheers,
Nilson
