Magical greetings, Josef, and welcome to planDisney! Some of my favorite take home purchases from Walt Disney World are, what I like to call, consumable souvenirs. They are perfect because I can use and enjoy them, extending my trip a bit longer without adding clutter to my life. Thanks for asking your question because you've given me an idea for my next trip, maple syrup from Canada inside EPCOT.
Canada is full of all kinds of maple goodness. It's home to my favorite flavored Disney popcorn, the maple popcorn sold at a cart right out front of the pavilion. I think it's even better than the caramel popcorn sold at
Karamell-Kuche in Germany. I've also bought maple candy there before in the shape of maple leaves. I enjoyed it by itself, and I dissolved some in tea, too. I might have even dissolved some in an adult spirit, but like Bruno, we won't talk about that.
One might think there would be a way to purchase practically anything sold by Disney, whether you're visiting a Disney Resort or not. Sadly, this isn't the case.
The Disney Store online is the official way to purchase Disney merchandise when not in
Walt Disney World, and items available from the parks are limited. Many of the specialty items around World Showcase, like the maple syrup from the
Trading Post, aren't available for shipping.
I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for. That being said, I've always heard that when you visit a place, you need to leave something behind so you'll have a reason to return. To me, buying maple syrup is a perfect reason to return, but I'm also an enabler. Or, perhaps you can do what I've done in the past and ask a friend to pick some up for you on their next trip.
Josef, I hope you're able to get your maple syrup sooner rather than later. We'd love to help you again with any other planning questions you have.
Grab hold of your dreams!
Melanie
