I am going to purchase annual passes for my family for my daughter's birthday in April. We're not planning on going to disney prior to april - if I purchase the passes now so I can make reservations, can they be activated from April 2016-April 2017

    Hi Lora!

Congratulations on purchasing your new Walt Disney World Annual Pass.  I've been a Passholder for 2 years now, and I love it.   Not only do I get admission to the Most Magical Place on Earth, I also receive some terrific discounts on merchandise, tours, recreation and even Disney Resort hotel stays.  It's so awesome.

If you purchase an Annual Pass online now, it won't be activated until you visit a Guest Relations window at any of the 4 theme parks or Disney Springs.   The date you activate it at Walt Disney World will become the expiration date.   For example if you purchase your pass online tomorrow,  and Activate your Pass on April, 1 of next year,  April 1 of the following year would be your expiration date.

I hope this has helped to answer your question today, Lora.  Enjoy your upcoming year of unforgettable memories.  If you have any other questions please visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again.  We love to help out fellow Guests.
