We puchased a vacation package for 4. One of the children had a family emergency and may not be able to come. Our check in is tomorrow. Are we able to cancel the one ticket?

    Hiya Angie!

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so sorry to hear that there is a family emergency and that plans have to change. Family is the priority, and Walt Disney World Resort is waiting here for when they are ready one day to visit.

Since you are arriving tomorrow your options are limited and most likely you will not be able to make any modifications online at this point. According to the Terms and Conditions for packages in 2024, changes to reservations including changing party size could result in a change fee. You will have to call and speak with a Cast Member at Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. There may be a chance to avoid fees if you move your reservation to a future date. It's not guaranteed but I would ask about what options are available and they can look at your specific reservation and assist you. (I don't have that power as I am a guest like you!) I have found them to be very helpful but don't delay!

I don't know if you booked any Enchanting Extras that required pre-payment but I would also have the Cast Member take a peek at how to remove that child from those reservations. Dining reservations can be modified or canceled up to two hours before the reservation time and can be done online or via the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Some reservations such as for Cinderella's Royal Table do not allow for modifications once the reservation is confirmed so speak to the Cast Member as well about this if you booked it. Look at your entire trip and make sure you modify any plans where they were booked so that you don't have any surprise charges.

I wish your whole Party pixie dust and luck!

    Happy Planning!

Meet the Panelist: Nimmy, New York

Hey, it's Nimmy from New York! Just like my guy Jiminy Cricket I am your wisecracking and helpful guide to making the best decisions for your Disney vacation! My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
