What is the best hour to arrive at magic kingdom December 31 to stay until new year evening, my grandson is 11 years old? Thanks

    Hi Francy,

My family did this two years ago when my daughters were 10 and 12. We arrived in the park around 10:00 am for the day. We made dinner reservations in the park and then stayed until the New Year.

Magic Kingdom like all the Disney parks has capacity limits. Magic Kingdom's is 75,000 guests. However, how long it takes to reach that capacity varies.

If you want to view the fireworks on Main Street, you will need to be there by 10:00 pm at the latest. Around this time, the only use of Main Street will become exits out of the park. You will not even be allowed to cross to another "land" to ride attractions in those areas so make sure you can see fireworks as well as ride the attractions by this time.

We were in Frontierland when we realized we would be staying there for the evening. This gave us many opportunities to ride Big Thunder Mountain, Hall of Presidents and Haunted Mansion. We also watched the fireworks from here and it was not crowded.

However, come 12:01 am the mass of people leaving was incredible. I recommend you walking in pairs out to the transportation and arrange to meet back at the hotel. My husband and I got separated with one daughter each. Luckily, we had planned to just meet back at the resort. I suggest staying and linger in the stores and then take transportation home.

    Wishing you a magical experience!
