What are the Pros and Cons between the Value Resorts at Disney World?

    Hi MaryAnn,

Disney's Value resorts are a great way to enjoy your vacation at a affordable price that won't break most budgets.

Personally I think the biggest advantage is the ability to stay on Disney property and enjoy all the Disney magic and amenities at a lower price than the moderate and deluxe properties. Disney resorts guests are able to use Disney transportation, have packages sent back to their resorts and most importantly have access to Disney Extra Magic Hours. This feature allows Disney Resort guests the chance to enjoy extra time in a select Disney park that is only open to guests staying on property. You also get the added Disney touches that happen on property. I refer to it as staying in the "bubble of pixie dust. There is truly a different feel to staying on property than a hotel off property. Every little element from the care that goes into your room, to the designs and themes of the resort have the added Disney touch and it does make a difference to the vacation.

The only concerns I sometimes have to staying at a value resort over a moderate or deluxe, or off property, is they are quite popular due to the affordablity. This means that at times they can be crowded which creates a longer wait for park buses. Luckily Disney is aware of the popularity and wait times and makes arrangements to accommodate the needs of the crowds. The other difference between the value resorts and the Moderate or Deluxe is the amenities. There are no table service restaurants on property and the pools usually do not offer the size or slides like the higher resorts. The other, bigger concern for my family of five, is the size of the rooms. The Value resorts are smaller in room size and can be quite tight for bigger families or party sizes.

Overall they are fantastic properties for a great price and we have enjoyed our numerous stays at them every time.
