Bonnie from MN Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We have a proposal to add 100 points to our contract. Can we add our 18 year old granddaughter as a DVC member. However; the requirement for a new DVC owner is 150 points. We are considering the Riviera for the add on points, Polynesian is home.

Welcome to planDisney, Bonnie! Here you will find a group of Disney enthusiasts eager to help you experience the most magical Disney vacation possible. We also enjoy assisting Disney Vacation Club Members to make the most out of their Disney Vacation Club Memberships. I am so glad that you decided to stop by with your question, and it would be my pleasure to provide you with some guidance regarding adding a member to your Disney Vacation Club Membership.

You have a few options when it comes to adding your granddaughter to your Disney Vacation Club Membership. The first option is to add your granddaughter to your current Disney Vacation Club Membership by working with an attorney or title agency to create and record a new deed. The new deed would show the transfer of ownership, from the way it is currently titled, into the way you want it to be titled. The fees associated with the changes are based upon the company you choose to work with, as no fees will be charged by Disney. For a list of recommended companies and details on where to send the updated deed and required documents, please check out this Member Types – Frequently Asked Questions page.

Another option would be to add your granddaughter as an Associate. You may add an Associate at the Disney Vacation Club website under My Profile. As an Associate, your granddaughter would only be able to make reservations and bank Vacation Points. She will not receive a Membership Card nor will she have any privileges of ownership.

I highly recommend contacting Members Services at (800) 800-9800 to discuss the possibility of adding your granddaughter to the new deed you create when you add points with a new contract at Disney’s Riviera Resort. I would ask to see if it is possible to put her name along with yours on the new deed.

I hope this information helps get you started on your journey to add on to your existing Disney Vacation Club Membership so that you and your granddaughter can experience and enjoy even MORE magic! Please stop back by planDisney any time we can help answer your vacation questions or questions about your Disney Vacation Club Membership.
