Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Linda!
You’re less than 60 days away from your next
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! And staying at
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort or
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is perfect for visiting
Disney’s Hollywood Studios for those
extra, Extra Magic Hours, too.
While we won’t really know for certain what the crowds will be like until
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens on Aug. 29, I think it’s definitely safe to say they’ll be heavier than normal. Although your visit in late September is a great time of year to visit (with most schools already back in session), since you’re looking at visiting the Park on a Saturday, the crowds may be a bit heavier. I would recommend getting a feel for the crowd level while you’re at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for those extra, Extra Magic Hours and then checking with a Cast Member before leaving the Park for the day. Of course your ticket allows you to return to the Park later in the afternoon or evening, and as a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guest you’d be last to be turned away should the general Theme Park crowds reach capacity. I would also recommend staying tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for updates after
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens to get a true feeling for what you can expect. You’ll also see pop-up notifications in your
My Disney Experience mobile app should there be any issues with traffic or crowd capacity.
Although you can’t see the projections on the front of the Chinese Theater, I have enjoyed watching the
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks from the Gazebo upstairs at
Stormalong Bay. Look just beyond the
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel and the
Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel and you’ll see them light up the night sky! If you want to ensure an up-close-and-personal experience with the fireworks, though, I would definitely recommend seeing if you can book a spot for the
Star Wars: a Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Tasty treats AND premium seats? It’s a win-win! Plus you’ll have plenty of time to return to your room for an afternoon nap and have time to relax in the Stormalong Bay lazy river, too. Now THAT sounds like a pretty awesome day to me!
Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Linda! May the Force be with you.
