Is it proper to tip tour guides?

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your excellent question, Margaret!

One of the things we all love about Walt Disney World Resort is that the Cast Members offer some of the best customer service in the "World!" It's amazing to me that the Walt Disney Company still epitomizes the values demonstrated by Walt himself. On the Keys to the Kingdom Tour a few yEARs ago, we learned that the backstage areas of the Parks have mirrors so that the Cast Members can check their smiles before going "onstage." There's no other company I know of that does that, and it what keeps us going back!

I spoke with a Cast Member over at Enchanting Extras today, and she said that the Tour Guides are asked to refuse tips since that is included in the cost of the tour. To show your appreciation for a job well done, you can certainly thank them by filling out a Cast Compliment card at Guest Relations. Guests with a Twitter account can also send a tweet right to Disney using the handle @WDWGuestService. Make sure to include the tour guide's name and the tour you took; I also like to add a picture of myself with the Cast Member and the hashtag #CastCompliment. Walt Disney World will print out your tweet and deliver it to the Cast Member, so they know how magical their service made you feel. If you take a private VIP Tour, you might also receive a survey via email asking for feedback.

If you have any more questions before your trip, Margaret, remember we're all EARs!
