Hello there, David!
It's great to meet you, welcome to planDisney! I cannot tell you how much I adore the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and seeing how little princesses and princes just glow with happiness all day after their makeovers! I totally understand wanting to check ahead of time on the types of products, especially if you have a little one with sensitive skin (we definitely did). Lucky for you and me, my
buddy and fellow panelist Al was in the parks just this week and he did some awesome research for us. Thanks for braving the glitter, Al!
The
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is currently using Original Sprout hair products, both the Classic Hair Gel and the Miracle Detangler. Somehow I find it really fitting that the Fairy Godmother's Apprentices are using "Miracle" Detangler. They are learning magic, after all! When I searched for the company website for these products I found that they are both advertised to have a gentle pH of 4.5-5.5 and are made specifically for babies, toddlers, and children. Reviews say that it is lightly scented and soft to the touch, not too heavy or stiff. Their labels also say they are 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and easy to wash out of hair (which is more than I can say for the glittery pixie dust, but I sure do love that stuff).
As for cosmetics, the makeup pallet and nail polish are both Disney branded and exclusive to the park. While I have both of these items at home, the nail polish labels don't provide a lot of information as far as ingredients. The nail polish does smell like typical nail polish, so if your child isn't a fan of that you're welcome to request to skip it! As I mentioned before, my daughter has struggled with some skin sensitivities but she hasn't had any issues with the cosmetics from the parks.
The Fairy Godmother's Apprentices want you to have a magical experience at the boutique, so if you have any concerns or requests they will do their very best to accommodate them. You can also request that they don't use any products at all; just know that hair won't stay styled as long without a little help from that magical hair gel.
Once you're magically dressed, my favorite spot to take royal photos is on the walkway between the boutique and
Fantasy Faire! This quiet little path is usually quite shady, has a great view of the castle, and has a lot less traffic than the main drawbridge. Some of the best pictures of my own daughter are from this sweet little spot.
David, I'm wishing for your little one to have the most magical and delightful experience at the boutique! One last magical tip...if there are others in your party who would also like a little pixie dust of their own, just ask! An apprentice will be happy to sprinkle you with sparkly (complimentary) happy thoughts. If you have more questions
just send me a note here and I'll grab my magic wand and be right over to help.
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
