Three Generations Aboard Ship; fireworks; night

    We are in the process of planning our first Disney cruise aboard the Disney Dream and are looking at the verandah staterooms. We are curious to know which level and section of the ship are the best to stay in? Thank you!

    I'm thrilled to hEAR you are casting off on your first Disney Cruise in the near future! My family made this life changing decision over 10 years ago, and we are so thankful we did. Some of our most precious and magical memories have been made at sea with Disney and we treasure them dearly.  
    Choosing a stateroom location is an excellent question because there are a few things to consider when pinpointing the perfect spot for your crew! You will be happy to know Deluxe Oceanview Verandah staterooms are located on Decks 5, 6, and 7 and will provide you with 245 sq. ft. of space. Deluxe Family Oceanview Verandah staterooms are found on Decks 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 and have 300 sq. ft. Disney Cruise Line has some of the most spacious family spaces at sea, so I think you'll find both accommodations to exceed your expectations. Any of these decks are great choices especially since the Disney Dream is very easy to navigate with three sets of stairs and elevator locations-Forward, Midship, and Aft. My Mouseketeers usually like a location between Midship and Aft because they like to be close to Cabanas and the 24-hour drink station! The Oceaneer Club/Lab is located on Deck 5 between the middle of the ship and the back so this is also a plus to this spot. If you select a room towards the front of the ship, you will be closer to the theaters, the spa/fitness center and Vibe, the teen area. As you can see, different locations have its perks. The middle of the ship does put you in the center of it all so that a great choice as well. As for port (left) or starboard (right) side of the ship, the Dream typically backs in at Castaway Cay. The port side will provide a view of the bay, post office and tram station while the starboard side is the beach view. If you think the motion of the boat will be a factor, a lower level midship room is probably best.
