Hi there, Paula!
Becoming a
Disney Vacation Club member has been the greatest vacation decision my family has made. I love the flexibility, the variety of
DVC destinations, and the perks of being a member.
The list of
Member Benefits is extensive, and members who purchase resale miss out on annual pass discounts, special member only events at the theme parks, food and merchandise discounts, use of the
member lounge at Epcot, and the ability to use your DVC points towards a
Disney Cruise Line sailing,
Adventures by Disney vacation, and non-DVC Disney hotel stays.
Resale DVC purchasers still get the 11-month advantage in booking your home resort, you still have the ability to book a non-home resort DVC property at 7 months, you can use the
Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort when you are staying on points, and you can still use your points for exchanges with RCI, which will take you on vacations all over the world.
We use the discounts often, and in our 10 years as members, we've saved in annual pass discounts alone over $6000. That doesn't even consider merchandise or food discounts, member exclusive events, or any of the other perks.
Good luck in making your choice. I hope you'll soon be hearing those magical words - "Welcome Home!"
Anna
