Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Vincent! You are smart to start thinking about the
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. Sign-ups are quickly approaching: June 4 at 10:00 AM EST, and May 30 for
Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members. So get ready, get set, and make sure you have a credit card and Proof of Time ready to GO!
In my experience, the spectators are what make a runDisney event extra magical. When I hit mile 10, it's those homemade signs and cowbells that get me to the finish line! I'm glad you're trying to incorporate a plan for your spectators for race weekend. Being part of the ChEAR Squad will make their spectating all the better. The ChEAR Squad packages don't usually sell out as fast as the runDisney races do, but I wouldn't wait too long to purchase them, as they will eventually fill up.
There are reserved ChEAR Zone viewing locations at
Magic Kingdom (near Cinderella Castle) and at the Finish Line (where they'll have reserved grandstand seating), and no theme park tickets are needed. The area in front of Cinderella Castle can get congested, but only those Guests who have a ChEAR Squad wristband are allowed to enter the roped off area. Your friends and family will get to see you run down Main Street, U.S.A. and they will also get to glimpse you exiting the castle! I get goosebumps every single time!
Once you register for the Disney Princess Half Marathon and the ChEAR Squad Package, you will receive emails from runDisney with specific information. This is especially convenient for spectators because they get detailed directions regarding race day transportation and when to arrive at the viewing locations. If you have any questions before registration opens, give runDisney a call at (407) 939-4786.
Hope to see you running through Cinderella Castle in February, Vincent!
