Hello Claire! Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel! Just thinking about your question is making me hungry, especially since
50's Prime Time Café is known for mouth-watering comfort food classics. I still love looking back at the pictures from our trip many years ago when our server, Patty, had to spoon feed my picky son his mac & cheese. She was laughing as much as I was, as she reminded my husband to take his elbows off the table. You'll feel like you're sitting in mom's kitchen, circa 1955, so make sure you take in all the kitschy details. When you check in, ask for a TV table- the kids will get a kick out of it!
One thing I've learned from all my trips to Walt Disney World is that it is the Cast Member's goal to make you happy. So if you prefer not to eat celery, don't be shy...trust me, the chef has had more difficult requests! If however, they aren't able to accommodate you, I highly recommend Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken. Last time I ordered it, it came with collard greens, and I asked for green beans instead- wish granted! Your son is indeed welcome to order off the kids' menu, and they might be able to make him an adult sized portion if you ask.
They are known for their Peanut Butter & Jelly Milk Shake here, and specialty beverages are now included with the
Disney Dining Plan! Just make sure you belong to the
Clean Plate Club, or "mom" may have to have a word with you!
See ya real soon!
