Hi Dana,
Disney's BoardWalk is such a fun place to take a break and shop, eat, or play! I love running over there for lunch or dinner during an EPCOT day because it is close and easy to get to. My favorite spot at Disney's BoardWalk is
Trattoria al Forno for a great pizza or pasta dish in a relaxing environment.
Jellyrolls is also a super fun piano bar and is one of the few nighttime hotspots for some adult-only fun.
There are a few ways to get from EPCOT to Disney's Boardwalk. There is a walking path that leads directly from EPCOT's International Gateway to Disney's BoardWalk. It takes you about 10 minutes and has some lovely views. You can also hop on a
water taxi at EPCOT's International Gateway which will drop you off at Disney's BoardWalk.
Unfortunately, if you
rent an ECV from Disney World, you will not be able to take the vehicle outside of the theme park. ECVs must be returned before you exit a theme park or Disney Springs to receive your deposit back. You can use your purchase receipt to pick up another ECV upon reentry or if you go to another theme park for the rest of the day.
If you rent an ECV from an outside rental company, I highly recommend using Disney's featured provider ScooterBug. This company is the only one that will be able to drop off and pick up your ECV without you being present. You will also be able to take these ECVs with you on Disney's transportation between theme parks and at your Disney Resort hotel. If you are taking your ECV on the Friendship Boat to Disney's BoardWalk, make sure you have some practice maneuvering it in tight spaces. The ramp can be a little tricky so put that thing in turtle mode and ask for help if you need it!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
