In previous trips to WDW, there was an option to make a request for a king bed. When I booked my upcoming trip, that option was no longer listed. Is there a way to request a king bed at POP Century anymore?

    Hi there, Lindsay!

It’s so great to see you back here at planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with your question about your upcoming stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!

You’ve chosen a totally rad resort! Pop Century is beloved for its nostalgic vibe, celebrating decades from the 50s through the 90s. I’m personally a fan of the giant outdoor decorations. I can never resist a photo with the massive Rubik’s Cube (probably because I’m an 80s kid at heart)! This resort is a perfect choice for couples, families, and solo travelers, offering great amenities like easy access to the Disney Skyliner, multiple pools, and well-designed rooms with features like bedside USB charging ports and under-the-bed storage for your luggage.

Now, on to your question about king beds! Rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort come with either one king bed or a combination of one queen bed and one pull-down Murphy bed. While the king bed option used to be available to select during the booking process, this is no longer the case. However, you can still request a king bed by contacting a Disney Resort Hotel Reservations agent. The reservations line is available daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern Time. Alternatively, you can use the Chat feature on the Walt Disney World website. Just be sure to have your reservation number handy.

Although king bed rooms are limited, they’re a great option if you’re traveling as a party of one or two. In fact, during my last stay at Pop Century for a girls’ weekend, I was automatically assigned a king bed without even making a request. These rooms also offer a little extra space and have a cozy table-and-chair setup, perfect for enjoying breakfast or planning out your park day.

If you’d like to be close to all the action, consider booking a Preferred Room and requesting to stay in the 60s section, which is conveniently located near Classic Hall and the Skyliner station. It’s a groovy way to save some steps while taking advantage of perks like Early Theme Park Entry. Getting a head start on the fun at EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios is just a Skyliner ride away!

I hope your stay is as magical as the decades Pop Century celebrates, Lindsay! If you have any other questions, I’m here to help make your vacation practically perfect in every way. Wishing you pixie dust and happy planning,

    Eean
